Today we had our first home ed. group visit to the forest school in Ecclesall Woods. We didn’t know what to expect and Jasmin was so excited.
So, with picnic packed and wellingtons on we set off.
The woods are amazing. You park up in the middle of an urban area, literally walk for 5 minutes and you are in the woods, with streams to paddle, jump and splash. Wow… You could be anywhere…
It didn’t take us long to spot the group. A tent was put up in between the trees, and blankets on the floor. Some children were playing music on saucepans. We took some wool for finger knitting, which the children enjoyed having ago with.
A rope was placed around two trees to make a bridge to balance on. This followed a small walk to the stream where the children played a game of mermaids.
Unfortunately, we had to leave early as Jasmin had her dance show.
Others stayed and had marshmallows and popcorn by the fire.
We had a lovely day and met some new friends too. A great start to our home ed journey.
